Role

The Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) is a government organization responsible for advising the Thai government on all aspects of geosciences, as well as providing professional geosciences advice to the public.

 

We work under the supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), whose mandate concerns with the preservation, conservation and rehabilitation of the natural resources and environment, efficient management to ensure sustainable use of the country's resources in the healthy environment, and well-being of Thai people.

 

We provide professional knowledge-based geosciences services to the community through geoscientific information and advice towards wise use of geological resources, public awareness in understanding the earth and its environment, minimum loss of life, property from natural disasters, enhancement and protection of our quality of life.
