Background

            The Department of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Education, has provided a piece of land which is the state property to establish national museum and institute for art, culture and science on the occasion of the king’s Golden Jubilee in order to be the center of all museums, knowledges and activities for public.The land is located in the are a of Klong Luang district, Phathum Thani province.DMR as the sole government agency responsible for geology and geological resources of the country then has launched a project, Development and improvement of national geological museum in honor of H.M. the King’s Golden Jubilee, in the area. This project is 1 of 12 projects according to establishment plan for the institute of art, culture and science in honor of H.M. the king’s Golden Jubilee. The museum will be the center for prominent geological specimen and reference conserving, public studying and researching and be the source of geological activities necessary for human living.
 
Location
 
The museum is situated on a 5 Rai land on Rangsit – Ongdharek road, Klong  Amphoe klong Luang, Changwat Phathum Thani and is one in the museum building cluster in the institute. This museum is 5 floored with a space of 14,000 square meters providing for lecture rooms, exhibition rooms, hall, library, etc.
